Sports Club

Welcome to Sports Club! Here, we will focus on a variety of skills from many different sports as well as the development of the character traits necessary to be successful in those sports. We will be focusing on individual sports in which you will have to rely on yourself to complete a task (I.E. track and field, pickleball), team sports where you will have to depend on your teammates to complete a task (I.E. basketball, volleyball), and the skills necessary to be able to participate in a competition setting.

Spanish Club (Beginning)

¡Bienvenidos al Club Español! In the Spanish Club, we will learn skills such as counting and identifying the alphabet, identify colors, shapes, days of the week, months of the year, animals, and different objects. Students will learn simple phrases that will help them converse with native Spanish speakers. Music and movement songs will be incorporated as well. During this time, we will also learn about the different countries that make up Latin America by embracing their culture, food, and holidays. Spanish is the second most spoken language in Florida and students will become more familiar with it. We hope you will join us for lots of fun!

Kindness Club

Welcome to Kindness Club! We will utilize ideas and resources from the Random Acts of Kindness Foundation to spread kindness, positivity, and encouragement to our school and community. Our mission is to build self-esteem and raise school morale by showing every person at our school that he or she really can make a difference. We will organize donation drives for shelters, send handwritten letters to heroes in our community, and surprise students and staff at our school with gifts of appreciation or celebration. This club reminds students that no act of kindness, no matter how big or small, is ever wasted.

Cursive/Calligraphy Club

Cursive is a style of writing in which all the letters in a word are connected. It’s also known as script or longhand. Cursive Club will meet weekly to learn, practice, and apply cursive handwriting. Students will learn to write entire words without lifting their pencil from the paper, learn how much force to apply to the pen and paper, as well as learn the process of motor planning to form letters in constant motion left to right.

We do not need wings to fly, just lace up your sneakers! Our Running Club is an active, healthy club for students who like to run, jog, walk, and improve their physical fitness. This club also places an emphasis on developing competence, confidence, connection, character, caring, and contribution in all participants through lessons that incorporate running. We will discuss the importance of injury prevention through warming up, stretching, cooling down, staying hydrated, healthy food choices, and healthy habits. Students will celebrate their accomplishments by earning a necklace charm for every mile completed. We will also participate in local running events once per quarter.

Fit Kids (Yoga/Fitness) is a fun, friendly way for students in grades 3-5 to learn about healthy habits! The core club content will be based on yoga, stretching, and breathing exercises for mindful meditation. School can be stressful, but Fit Kids can learn positive relaxation techniques, healthy eating, and good sleep routines so they are energized and engaged every day! Imagine it, build it, and make it go! Using Dot and Dash Blockly and Wonder apps. students will explore the exciting world of robotics! Students will code robots to complete several different missions. Missions will increase in intensity. Students will complete logs and videos for each mission.
